This is Tyler Summey’s third year at JFCA, serving as the school’s Assistant Athletic Director and Strength & Conditioning Coach. Tyler comes to us with a background in exercise science, coaching, and training athletes.

Tyler obtained his Bachelor Degree in Exercise Science from Georgia College in 2012 and then went on to complete his Master’s Degree in Strength, Conditioning, & Fitness at The University of Georgia in 2013. He is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and an original member of the National High School Strength Coaches Association, an organization founded to help improve high school strength and conditioning programs across the country.

Throughout his education Tyler completed multiple internships in the strength & conditioning field, allowing him to work with a wide variety of sports and athletic skill levels. From Division I Football players at Georgia State University to multi-sport high school athletes at Greater Atlanta Christian School. He also served as a Student Strength Coach with The Olympic Strength and Conditioning Program at The University of Georgia; where he helped coach cross country, men’s basketball, cheerleading, and the swim and dive team. Most recently, he has experience working as a strength and conditioning director at Ninth Inning Baseball in Chamblee, GA.

His goal is to make your son or daughter the best athlete they can be on and off the field, exemplifying Christ in all that they do. He goes beyond just training to stress the importance of character development and helping to educate the kids and parents on proper nutrition and proper training versus myths.

Tyler and his wife Kelli live in Marietta, GA with a newly born baby boy Everett.
